Bizarre. Strange. Unusual.
During the 1990s, I loved Weird NJ magazine, the X-Files and alternative music. This coincided with my introduction to sideshow and the beginning of the Sideshow Renaissance or the Postmodern Sideshow as a reinvention of sideshow. Body modification as a means of self-expression, the Modern Primitive movement, and an obsession with the bizarre, hybridity and alienation infiltrated popular culture.
